Metamorphosis in the Slaughterhouse to go on screen in Toronto

Iranian film ‘Metamorphosis in the Slaughterhouse‘ directed by Javad Daraei will be screened at the 10th edition of the Toronto Asian Film Festival in Canada.

BMO IFFSA Toronto is THE LARGEST SOUTH ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL IN NORTH AMERICA, and a pioneer organization devoted to advancing the development, promotion and celebration of cinematic arts. IFFSA is a year-round platform with various sub-festivals and initiatives, which culminates in BMO IFFSA Toronto Fortnight each May. In its 10th year now, the festival has become an international icon and the voice of South Asian cinema in Canada.

This extravaganza showcases a diverse, language independent, selection of the best films from around the world, on themes of South Asian cultures and identities. In the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family”, a select number of foreign films are considered under Beyond South Asia segment.

In addition, the festival also features gala dinners, red carpet premiers, concerts, lounge parties, exhibitions, seminars, discussions, workshops, pitching sessions and networking opportunities with government representatives, business leaders, local organizations that support film development, film stars, producers, directors, members of the media and more.

IFFSA Toronto 2021 will be held from May 13 to 24 as part of South Asian Heritage Month celebrations. Various launch events and buzz activities will take place during the month of April 2021.

Exciting and glamorous events have been planned at various pristine and prestigious venues across GTA including cities of Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Milton, and Oakville.

The film is a product of Iran, Germany and Canada, produced by Mehdi Koohzadeh.

The cast includes Fariba Talebi, Saeed Ahmadi, Fariba Torkashvand, Farahnaz Manafizaher, Rhamat Sekar khand, Foujan Ahmadi, Mahshid Khosravi, Iman Saraf, Arezou Balalidehkordi, Sarina Yousefi , Mohammad Eghlimi, Amir Abbas Ghazaei, Avin Koohzadeh.
